The Farmers Edge Superspiel field is looking strong once again for December 6-8, 2019. Last year’s event had some International Flavour with a team from China and this year’s International Flavour is of the Scotland variety with Team Glen Muirhead. MUIRHEAD is one of Scotland and the Worlds top ranked teams and will bring some top notch curling to Wadena. We have Interest from Manitoba teams and plenty of top Saskatchewan teams including teams like Meacham, Hartung, Carss and more. If you are interested in watching some local curlers, we have Team Comfort with Lee Johnson and Scott Comfort, and Team Jacobsen with the Springer boys from Foam Lake registered as well.

The event is a stop on the World and Saskatchewan Curling Tours with an affordable $600 entry with one of the top prizes on the SCT at $5000 for first (based on 16 mens team entries. Junior Teams can enter ALL SCT events for $300. There is not cap on the spiel since there is a berth in the Tankard on the line (for the top eligible registered team) so we can take any entry until the November 25th deadline.

Previous years event was well received by sponsors, curlers, fans, and the club alike. Farmer’s Edge Regional Manager of Central Prairies Damon Johnson said “We couldn’t have asked for more through this local partnership with the Wadena Curling Club in bring this important Sask Curling Tour event to Wadena. Congratulations to Scott (Comfort), Lee (Johnson) and the entire club on a successful weekend and thank you for your hospitality. Looking forward to doing it all again this year”. 2017 Event Champions, Jeff Hartung added “We have never been to a better SCT Event. Well organized, great food, exceptional ice, and friendly hospitality. We’ve always enjoyed coming to Wadena and will be back. It was great to see such great support from the sponsors and volunteers”.
